Our manned exhibition provides an opportunity for you to discuss the ideas so far, identify any gaps, and even contribute new ideas. We'll also be giving a presentation of what we’ve learnt so far. Please, please come along – your feedback at this stage is vitally important.

Over the past few years Kirkintilloch has had a number of dramatic changes to the way it looks, works and feels. It’s been the subject of everything from dinner table debate, street gossip, to all out community demonstrations. That said we are all now here, and now is the time to focus all that energy to get a plan for the future.

How can you help? To help us get an understanding of what people want from the future we have developed an in-depth online questionnaire. We will use this information to inform decisions about the future.

We now need your help further by completing the questionnaire at the below link. Please, please also share with everyone you know – the more responses the better.

Kirkintilloch Community Consultation

In addition to this over the 25 – 27 January 2018 there will be face to face consultation events taking place across Kirkintilloch for people to have their say. Since late 2011 East Dunbartonshire Council has worked with the people of Kirkintilloch to develop and deliver a Town Centre Masterplan. This has led to a number of major changes in the way Kirkintilloch looks, works and feels. It’s been the subject of everything from dinner table debate, street gossip to all out community demonstrations. That said we are all now here, and now is the time to focus all that energy to set a plan for the future.

Kirkintilloch Community Council has been empowered to undertake the process of engaging an organisation to consult with the community to capture all your needs, hopes and aspirations for the future of Kirkintilloch. From late November the successful organisation will be out and about in the town engaging with individuals, groups and the public at large to capture everyone’s wishes on the future for our town. From there, who knows, but it is our aspiration to use the changing face of policy to bring more power to the people of Kirkintilloch to decide what and how they would like the future of the town to look like.

So this is just the start. Please get involved. The more feedback we get, the more power the message to East Dunbartonshire Council has about what we wish to see for the future. Watch this space for further details!!
